Barok’s wife now ‘heads’ drug trade, under close watch
POLICE are keeping a watchful eye on the wife of Alvaro “Barok” Alvaro, who has allegedly taken over the reins of his illegal drug business.
Three days ago, Barok’s younger brother, Medz Alvaro, and his alleged cohort, Ronnie Castro, were killed by Danao City police during a buy-bust operation. Four hours later, the Danao City Police Station was strafed by a motorcycle-riding man, who was able to flee.
Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos told CEBU DAILY NEWS that after Medz was killed, they received information that Barok’s wife has continued her husband’s business.
Batobalonos said that she is still in Danao City.
He said drug dealers would go to the house allegedly owned by Barok onboard motorcycles.
If they are not able to pay for the drugs, they leave their motorcycles as collateral, that is why there are so many motorcycles inside the compound owned by the Alvaros, said the police chief.
The remains of Medz is now in his mother’s house in Barangay Looc proper in the city.
Castro’s remains was brought to his home in Sitio Pulangyuta, Barangay Looc, which is located only three houses away from the house owned by Barok where they (Casto and Medz) were killed.
Batobalonos said the Alvaros are natives of Danao City, and many of them live together in Sitio Pulangyuta, Barangay Looc.
They are five siblings: three girls and then Barok and Medz.
Meanwhile, the suspected gunman who strafed the Danao City Police Station has moved out of the city and is hiding in neighboring towns. According to Batobalonos, they were able to confirm that he was a member of Alvaro’s group.
