A 33-year-old man tried to commit suicide after allegedly killing his 25-year-old lover around 4 p.m. last Wednesday inside a lumber store, in Barangay Poblacion, Barili, southwest Cebu, where they were both working.
Marvin Wasquin stabbed himself in the left chest after stabbing Crisanta Abad at her back that led to her death.
Wasquin was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, where he is now recuperating.
According to PO3 Rommel Patalinghug, investigator of Barili police station, the two, who were both married, were rumored to have an illicit affair.
Wasquin worked as delivery truck driver and Abad as cashier. Prior to the incident, the two were having a serious conversation inside the warehouse.
The co-workers further narrated to the police that they heard from Abad that she wanted to end their relationship but Wasquin got mad.
Abad tried to run back to the store located across the street but was chased by the suspect and stabbed at her back. While inside the hospital, Wasquin admitted to PO3 Patalinghug having an illicit affair with Abad for the past seven months.
