THE CEBU Landmasters racked up another win while the defending champions Petron Bling Nation continued their implosion in Division A action in the PLDT SME Nation – Alfredo Gothong 21st SHAABAA Cup Basketball Tournament last Wednesday at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
The Landmasters managed to squeak past the hard-fighting Bayfront Cebu Hotel, 47-43, to bump their record to 6-1 (win-loss).
Kyle Valmoria and Moncrief Rogado scored 12 apiece to help the Landmasters keep their lofty perch atop the team standings.
In the other Division A game, Petron was held down to a mere 25 points in a 25-49 shellacking at the hands of Harley Davidson.
So anemic was Petron’s offense that they failed to crack double-digits in each of the four periods.
In contrast, Jair Igna and Fletcher Galvez combined to score more than Petron as the former had 16 and the latter added 14 in the lopsided rout.
