KAPUSO actor Dennis Trillo has added another feather to his cap after earning an Asian Star Prize from the recently concluded Seoul International Drama Awards.
Dennis personally received the trophy in Seoul, South Korea after his performance as Emman on “My Faithful Husband” was recognized, by the award giving body.
“This is very special to me because this was given by the Korean people, who are very well-known in creating best dramas in the world. In the Philippines, we also do our best in trying to create quality programs for the Filipino audiences. This award will also inspire me in honing my craft as a dramatic actor,” he said in accepting the honor.
Anthony Wong of Hong Kong and Jasper Liu of (Liu Yi Hao) of Taiwan received the same award.
Aside from the award, fans of “Descendants of the Sun” are going crazy online after Dennis took the chance to take selfies with Korean actor Song Joong Ki, who won as Outstanding Korean actor. He captioned the photo, “What a night.”
Dennis’ manager Popoy Caritativo explained on Instagram that the award is non-competitive.
“It recognizes and rewards Asian drama actors who are widely beloved by the Korean audience. The winners are recommended by the jury and selected by the organizing committee,” he wrote.
Her rumored girlfriend and fellow Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado did not miss the opportunity to greet Dennis for taking home the award.
The Ultimate Star reposted the photo of Dennis with “Descendants of the Sun” star Song Joong Ki with a short but sweet message, using her term of endearment for him: “Congrats Papaw! Really proud of you!”
