Lapu-Lapu killing

A 37-year-old man was found dead with gunshot wounds and his hands tied up in Sitio Bagong Silangan, Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City on Wednesday evening.

Jonathan Maata, of Sitio Matumbo, Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City sustained four gunshots on his left face and shoulder.

Investigation conducted by PO3 Joseph Rouel Cutanda of the Homicide Section revealed that nearby residents heard gunfires at 9:34 p.m.

Later, Maata was discovered by passersby lying on the ground bleeding with his hands tied behind his back. A carton was placed on top of him with a message that reads, “Pusher Ko Ayaw Ko Sunda.” (I’m a drug pusher, don’t be like me.)

Police found six small packs of suspected shabu and a rolled tin foil strip from his pocket.
