Belande powers Supportsave to 10th straight win
DOUBLE-DOUBLE machine Niño Belande came up with yet another stellar game and the rampaging Supportsave Dragons won anew as they blasted the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs, 80–68, last Sunday in the EVO League of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.
Belande erupted for a game-high 30 points and hauled down 11 rebounds while adding two blocked shots and an assist to help the Dragons inch closer to sweeping the elimination round with their 10th victory in as many games.
Mark Philip Matidios backed Belande with 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
Jerard Dela Cerna scored 23 points, while Gharde Malinao and Roberto Garcia Jr. chipped 10 apiece for Contact Solutions, which slipped to 5-6 (win-loss).
In other EVO League games, the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties improved to 8-2 by downing the Author Solutions Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, 52–44, while Kyocera Frontiers tallied their seventh win in nine outings with a 65–57 beating of the Blue Ocean Pirates.
King Luigi Olbes paced Tech Mahindra with 11 markers.
ASI, which dropped to 4-6, was led by John Lorenzo Segarra’s 10 points.
Ariel Ramonito Edera piled up 26 points to show the way for the Frontiers, who also got 12 markers from Winston Stephen Panal.
Raymond Dennis Tan scored 19 points and Paul Romwell Amitt contributed 15 in Blue Ocean’s seventh defeat against three victories.
In the lone Elite Classic match, the Teleperformance All Stars listed their fifth triumph in seven games via a 72–62 tripping of the Sykes Pioneers.
Ryan Veloso powered the All Stars with 18 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals. Dean Junber Escalon donated 13 points, while James Lester Navaja had 12.
Melecio Villaplaza and Robby Ruiz each finished with 15 points for the Pioneers, who crashed to 4-4.
