On its fourth year, the Rookie Pintados Games (RPG) will show its charitable side as it joins the celebration of the “Pink October Month” on Oct. 22 at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
The proceeds of the crossfit competition will be given to the Icanserve Foundation which is a non-government organization that promotes cancer awareness.
The fourth staging of this crossfit competition is considered the biggest in terms of attendance as more than a hundred athletes from Manila, Baguio, Pampanga, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Dumaguete and Ormoc have confirmed their participation in the one-day event organized by Cebu’s Crossfit Pintados and Pero Concepts and Solutions.
“Everyone’s going to wear pink including the judges, the athletes to join the celebration of Pink October Month and we are glad that we are part of this cause,” said Neil Soque, the head coach of Crossfit Pintados, in a press conference yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu. He was joined by Crossfit Pintados owner Renault Lao and Pero Concepts and Solutions head Idyll Peroramas.
“This year, we are making RPG bigger than ever with more participating athletes. We are excited to hold it at the Ayala Center Cebu so that more people can witness and appreciate crossfit,” said Lao.
The RPG, according to Soque, is an event to showcase newbies who have just started crossfit and prepare them for bigger events.
“RPG was created to showcase new members and their journey into functional fitness and to show the audience that even normal people can engage in this emerging sport,” said Soque.
The competitors will be divided into two categories; the rookie class and the scale class or the intermediate class.
The elimination round will have four workout challenges. The athletes with the fastest time to complete a workout challenge will advance to the next round along with the other top five athletes.
