11 vessels docked in ports due to ‘Lawin’

ABOUT 11 passenger, cargo, and roll-on roll-off vessels remain docked in Cebu’s ports as supertyphoon Lawin makes its way to the country Wednesday evening.

Agapito Bibat, station commander of the Philippine Coast Guard-Cebu station, said there is no gale warning or storm signals issued for the Visayas and it is up to the management to cancel trips.

The vessels that canceled their trips were Manila-bound MV TransAsia 12 and MV Manila Bay 1 as well as MV Kherry 8, which is bound for Catanduanes.

Other vessels that remain docked were MV Melrevic 1 (Bogo to Cawayan, Masbate) which had 38 passengers, MV Super Shuttle Ferry 23 (Hagnaya to Sta. Fe, Bantayan), MV Super Shuttle Ferry 11 (Hagnaya to Sta. Fe, Bantayan), MV Lapu-Lapu Ferry (Cebu to Cataingan, Masbate), MV Gloria 1 (Cebu to Hilongos), MV South Pacific (Cebu to Bato, Leyte), MV Fastcraft Aznar 2 (Toledo to San Carlos), MV Taxi 1 (Toledo to San Carlos).
