AN On-the-Spot Painting Competition took place at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa last October 12 to 16. The 35 participants of the contest are from Portrait Artists Society of the Philippines Inc. Renowned artist, Mr. Romulo Galicano spearheads this completion with Plantation Bay as the main subject of all their masterpieces.
The competition ran for 5 days. They were given one whole day to search for the subject and four days to do the actual painting.
Plantation Bay awarded Mr. Wilfredo Cañete Jr. with P 70,000.00 as the first place winner, Mr. Luther Galicano with P 50,000.00 as the second place winner, and P 30,000.00 to Mr. Darby Alcoseba as the third place winner. Ten artists are given a gift certificate of an overnight stay with breakfast for 2 persons, and P 2,500 worth of F&B gift certificates as consolation prize.
As a token of appreciation, Mr. Romulo Galicano collaborated for a painting interaction with fellow artists, Mr. Mariano Vidal, Mr. Jose Kimsoy Yap, and Mr. Adeste Deguilmo, together with Plantation Bay’s Resident Shareholder, Mr. Emmanuel Gonzalez, Board of Director, Mr. Rafael Conejos, and PR Officer, Ms. Andi Lim. /PR
