The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) will visit the houses of operators and drivers of Grabcar and Uber, car-booking app.

The home visit was the suggestion of Senior Supt. Joel Doria, Cebu City police director, so drivers and operators of Grabcar and Uber would be aware of the temporary suspension on the application of the Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS).

Doria assured Ahmed Cuizon, LTFRB-7 director, that his personnel would be accompanied by policemen during the home visits.

“Then we can explain to them that there is a temporary suspension and corresponding penalties,” Doria said.

In Cebu, there are 700 operators and drivers for Grabcar and Uber.

Cuizon went to the Cebu City Police Office on Monday morning to discuss with Doria about the death threats receiving by LTFRB-7 personnel which may have been stemmed from the intensified campaign against unregistered taxi operators.
