CEBUANO netter Arthur Craig Pantino absorbed a shocking elimination round loss in the opening day of the PHINMA-PSC International Junior Tennis Championships yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

After an opening set breakdown, the third-ranked Pantino wasn’t able to recover as he lost to the unranked Japanese foe Fomiya Yoshino, 3-6, 6-7 (3).

Pantino has a chance to redeem himself when he joins forces with Christian Alvin Edison of Indonesia in the doubles competition which starts Friday.
