A DAY after Jerry Castroverde’s loss in Russia, another Omega Boxing Gym stalwart faltered after Salatiel Amit bowed to Jonathan Taconing last Saturday at the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.

Jonathan Taconing (23W-3L-1D, 19 Kos) knocked Amit 9-2-2, 7 KOs) out of the ring in the fourth round to snatch the WBC International light flyweight title.

Taconing landed two left crosses, that sent Amit out of the ring.

Referee Silvestre Abainza called a halt to the fight the moment Amit fell to the floor, awarding Taconing the technical knockout (TKO) win.

Amit’s loss came after his stablemate Castroverde suffered a fourth-round TKO loss to Russian Shavkat Rakhimov last Friday in DIVS, Ekatirenburg, Russia.
