MAO BA?

DEAN’S LISTER
It seems being a dean’s lister is not as simple as getting the minimum grade requirement for the academic recognition.

For a northern Cebu school, for instance, it also takes initiative and guts on the part of the students to present their academic records to the committee if they wish to see their names in the prestigious list.

“Isn’t that their job to determine those who should be included in the list?” one amused student said. “Why are they asking us to submit our grades for checking and validation?”

MAJOR EXAM

One of those ordained to the diaconate was asked by his friends to describe his feelings during the solemn rites.

“I don’t know,” he said, smiling. “It was like taking a major exam in Philosophy with the terror teacher.”

TOUCHING MOMENT

A retired Church leader and a newly ordained priest shared a touching moment during an ordination ceremony.

Instead of just laying his hands on the head of the ordained priest, the retired Church leader, one of Cebu’s most beloved figures, stooped low and hugged him, to the delight of those who witnessed it.

It was a “moment within a moment”, noted one of the priests present.
