The top brass of the Omega Pro Sports International (OPSI) is pleased with how the maiden season of the “Who’s Next?” Pro-Boxing Series had panned out.

“Overall, we were pleased with the turnout. All the fights were competitive and entertaining,” said Pio Paulo Castillo, president of OPSI.

The boxing series was launched in March 3 and had three offerings, all headlined by the unbeaten Jhack Tepora, who is considered as the face of the Omega Boxing Gym.

“Our boxers were tested and even went through some scary moments. Then of course Jhack Tepora proved to all once again that he should be considered as a world-caliber boxer,” added Castillo.

The maiden season of the boxing series was capped by a well-attended card last Dec. 2 that saw Tepora winning his second regional title belt by knocking out his first-ever foreign opponent in Indonesian Galih Susaton.

The win netted Tepora (19W-0L-0D-14KOs) the vacant WBO Oriental superbantamweight title.

The first two editions of “Who’s Next?” saw Tepora defending his WBO Asia-Pacific Youth superbantamweight title.

Also shining in the series was Kenny Demicillo, who defended twice his WBF Asia Pacific bantamweight title.

Equally impressive was Christian Araneta, who has yet to lose in 13 fights with 11 of those wins coming by knockouts.

“We will talk to the WBO and propose that Christian go for a regional belt. We’re confident that he’s already ripe for this, especially after last Friday’s fight. We are hopeful that the response will be positive,” said Castillo.

Also adding spice in the series was former Oympian Mark Barriga, who saw action in the first and third editions.
