THE University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars claimed third place in the 2nd Raul Cabañero Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament after they routed the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 81–59, on Saturday night at the Bulacao Sports Complex.

Playing with a chip on their shoulder after they got upset by the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats in the Final Four, the Jaguars were relentless on both ends of the floor and raced off to a 27–10 lead after the first to set the tone of the lopsided match.

RJ Dinolan and Miguel Gastador took turns puncturing the defense of the Webmasters as they finished with 20 points apiece. Tricky Peromingan added 12 while reserve guard Benick Sealana had 10.

Justine Dacalos led the Webmasters in scoring with 16 while JR Puerto had 12.

The championship match between the reigning Cesafi champions University of the Visayas and CIT-U was still being played in as of this writing.
