A CONVENIENCE store employee remains in critical condition after he was shot by a security guard during an argument inside the store in Barangay Poblacion, Argao town in Cebu at 1 p.m. last Sunday.

PO3 Benjamen Hirosaga of the Argao police precinct identified the 23-year-old victim as Raymart Duran Omeres, a resident of Barangay Binlod, Argao town. He sustained a gunshot wound in his neck.

The 33-year-old security guard identified as Herwen Labos, a native of Cebu City that is staying in Barangay Ampang, Argao town, was arrested and detained at the Argao police precinct.

Hirosaga said the incident started when a costumer confronted Omeres for not giving the exact change.

Labos reportedly intervened and argued with Omeres, then pulled out his service firearm and shot Omeres in the neck.

Bystanders brought Omeres to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital in Argao town but was moved to a Cebu City hospital. Taken from Labos was one loaded revolver.

Hirosaga said personal grudge was being considered as the motive behind the attack./Correspondent Rene F. Alima
