Peteros tops April edition of Wesley So chess tilt

JAVE Mareck Peteros rebounded from a third place finish last month by ruling the April edition of the Little Wesley So Chess Cup last Sunday at the Knight Attack Chess Café in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

The 12-year-old USC-BED student finished the six-round Swiss system format competition with a an impressive 6-0 record.

He beat Chylle Redelosa, Edelyn Vosotros, Arje Villarin, Aaron Resma, Jervy Villarin and KC Belano en route to the crown.

Aaron Resma and Jervy Villarin both scored 4.5 points to share second place while Arje Villarin, Chrisen Sanchez and Dwayne Abella tied for third with 4.0 points. Lawrence Paradela, KC Belano, Sean Cogonon, Edelyn Vosotros and Nina Cabarles each had 3.5 points for fourth place.

The tournament was organized by the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA).
