JIMMY Paypa faltered in his first fight in Russia after suffering a technical knockout (TKO) loss Friday night against Tajikistan’s Shavkat Rakhimov in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Paypa, of Lanao del Norte and one of the rising boxers of ALA Boxing Gym got hit with a right straight in the breadbasket and went down grimacing in pain at the 1:17 mark of the sixth round in their 10-round showdown.

Paypa got off to a scintillating start when he decked the unbeaten Tajik fighter in the second and third rounds.

However, Rakhimov found his second wind in the sixth and launched a barrage of punches including the timely left straight that found Paypa’s unguarded abdomen.

It was the 24-year-old Paypa’s fourth loss. He has 19 wins, seven knockouts and single draw while Rakhimov earned his 10th win with eight knockouts.

Paypa is the fifth Filipino victim of the rising Tajik boxer. Last year, Rakhimov beat Jerry Castroverde and Roldan Aldea and just last February, he defeated Rogelio Jun Doliguez. All three fights were also held in Russia.
