YOUNG Cebuana triathlete Moira Frances Erediano bagged a bronze medal in her very first international competition Sunday by finishing third in the Jax Beach Aquathlon in Jacksonville, Florida USA.

The 1-mile run, 1.5-mile swim, 1-mile run event was the first official competition abroad for the 13-year-old Erediano.

She clocked 32 minutes and 37 seconds behind Jacksonville local, 19-year-old Amelia Hartje (30:34) and women’s open winner, 29-year-old Tracey Bruce (30:17).

According to Erediano’s father, Fritz, they will fly back to Cebu on June 4 for the opening of classes. Moira and her family are vacationing in the U.S since May 9.

The rising junior triathlete recently topped her age group in the Tri Merida tilt in Leyte last May 6 and placed second in the Subic Bay International Triathlon and third in the Alaska Ironkids in Metro Manila last month.
