USC grad tops ChemEng licensure exam

The University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City is on a roll.

A day after two USC accountancy graduates- Vianca Pearl I. Amores and Marianito Jesus B. Del Rio took and shared the number one spot in the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examination, another graduate of the university emerged on top, this time in the May 2017 Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination (CELE).

Wayne Lorenz B. Tandingan got the highest rating of 85.20 percent, while Carlo B. Galicia from the Cebu Institute of Technology-University ranked 9th with 82.10 rating.

They are the only Cebuanos who landed at the top ten of the successful passers of the CELE.

A law graduate of USC, Karen Mae L. Calam , also topped the 2016 Bar exams, the toughest licensure examination in the country, the result of which was released early this month.

Other topnotchers in the CELE were Victor Lau (2nd) of Mapua institute of Technology-Manila, Joshua Alcazara (3rd) of Mapua institute of Technology-Manila, Marc Joseph Capili (4th) of the De La Salle Universiy-Manila, Anthony Maputi (5th) of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, John Richard Sy (6th) of De La Salle University-Manila, Peniel Jean Gildo (7th) of De La Salle University-Manila, Jerome Spencer Sy (8th) of De La Salle University-Manila and Gregory Emmanuel Mendoza (10th) of Mapua institute of Technology-Manila.

According to a report posted on the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) website, 320 out of 561 chemical engineeringh graduates who took the exam last May 24-26, 2017 passed the CELE given by the Board of Chemical Engineering in Manila and Cebu.
