THE SG-ARQ Builders nabbed the Indie Basketball Cebu crown after they turned back ASPA, 85-75, in the championship game last Sunday at the Cebu City Sports Institute.
Allan Sala carried the Builders to the promised land as he tallied across-the-board numbers of 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three blocks and four steals. So impressive was SG-ARQ this season as they finished it without a single loss in 11 outings.
The team received the P20,000 prize, P20,000 worth of insurance from Pru Life UK and All their players received 20k worth of Insurance from Pru Life UK, a plaque, Ultimate /Gym memberships and Indie Basketball jerseys and socks courtesy of Cebu Shirts And Sportswear.
Romar Ponce had 18 points to lead ASPA but it wasn’t enough.
Meanwhile, in the All Star Game, the Indie Finishers outhustled the Indie Starters, 111-101. Former University of the Visayas forward Alwyn Aguirre was the star amongst stars as he finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots to be named All Star MVP.
RNK Builders’ Ivan Deo won the three-point shootout as he bested the Lycans’ Ranel Cortes.
