HOST team Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) got off to a rousing start after it routed Garcia Hernandez FC of Bohol, 5-0, at the start of the Second SHS-AdC Invitational Football Tournament yesterday at the Fr. Julian Hernando sports field in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
The win allowed the Magis Eagles to tie Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) of Victorias, Negros Occidental at the top of the team standings of the 11-aside format tournament.
DBTI started its campaign with a 3-0 victory also against Garcia Fernandez FC. SHS-AdC and DBTI both have three points.
In group B, Giuseppe FC and Ateneo de Davao also shared the lead with three points each.
Giuseppe FC beat Abellana National School, 2-1, before it lost to Ateneo de Davao, 0-3. Giuseppe FC sports a 1W-0D-1L card while Ateneo de Davao has a clean sheet of 1W-0D-0L. ANS has 0W-0D-2L card.
In group C, Pagasa FC of Iloilo and University of San Carlos (USC) settled for a, 1-1 draw to earn one point each.
