Man arrested after snatching cellphone
A man was arrested after he snatched a cellphone of a woman who was walking near a fastfood chain in Mango Avenue, Cebu City last Friday morning.
The suspect was identified Ruel Deparine, 32 of Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.
According to SPO1 Romualdo Torregosa of the Cebu City Police Office, they were on roving patrol in the area when the victim, Marivic Alcalde, 34, of Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City approached them and told them that her cellphone was snatched.
Torregosa and his fellow policemen conducted a follow-up operation and spotted the suspect near the area where the incident took place.
Terregosa and his men arrested Deparine after he was positively identified by the victim and recovered from him the Samsung J7 cellphone of Alcalde worth P12,000.
The suspect is now detained at the Fuente Police Station pending the filing of charges against him.
