THE UNIVERSITY of the Visayas (UV) and Don Bosco formally arranged its semifinal showdown after hurdling their respective opponents in the SBP class of the 32nd SBP Passerelle Twin tournament backed by Milo last Sunday at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.

UV crushed the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma, 62-18, behind an incredible first period performance where they held their opponents without a single point while scoring 22 of their own.

Daniel Padilla led UV in scoring with 14 points to help the team finish the elimination round with a 3-1 win-loss record, good for the second seed behind the unbeaten Ateneo de Cebu.

Don Bosco, on the other hand, bested the University of San Carlos (USC), 55-29, to end up with an even 2-2 card. Sid Reroma paced Don Bosco with 10 points.

Ateneo de Cebu will meet with USC in the other semis pairing.

The Passerelle semis will feature Ateneo de Cebu taking on SWU-Phinma while UV locks horns with USC. The semis will be played this Sunday.
