THE FIRST ever Binibining Cebu will be crowned on Oct. 28. Among the ladies vying for the title are Pia Bernadette Gabuya of Sibonga and Quennie Rose Eboña of Tabuelan. Get to know more of these lovely candidates:
Pia Bernadette Gabuya
Age: 19
Town: Sibonga
Hobbies/Interests: Reading books, watching, critiquing and making films
School: Bachelor of Arts Major in Communication at the University of San Jose-Recoletos
Title: Ms. Heart & Soul 2016
PIA Bernadette Gabuya wants to have fun and cherish her experience with fellow candidates as she competes in Binibining Cebu.
Gabuya is the official candidate for Sibonga, a town in southeastern Cebu which is 56 kilometers away from Cebu City.
The town is known for the Miraculous Shrine of Mama Mary located in Simala.
“The strong faith of the Sibonganhons shows the religiousness of all Cebuanos,” she said. Sibonga is also known for its beautiful cherry blossoms.
Quennie Rose Eboña
Age: 22
Town: Tabuelan
Hobbies/Interests: Island hopping, trekking, visiting heritage spots and watching basketball games
QUENNIE Rose Eboña feels honored that her first pageant experience is Binibining Cebu.
Eboña is the official candidate of Tabuelan which she considers as the hidden paradise of northern Cebu.
Tabuelan’s original name was derived from the word “tabugok,” a kind of octopus usually found in the town.
The town’s main livelihood is agriculture. Its attractions include the Himaroto Cave, Durham White Beach and the Maravilla Beach Resort.
The town celebrates its fiesta on the 24th day of July in honor of its patron saint, St. John the Baptist. The festival is named Ani-Anihan sa Tabuelan.
