KARATEKAS from the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) reigned supreme in the 17th Cesafi karatedo tournament last Saturday at the USJ-R Basak Campus.
The Jaguars bagged a total of 28 gold medals, 14 silvers and four bronze medals to finish on top.
The University of San Carlos (USC) came in at second place with 16 golds, four silvers and seven bronze medals while the University of Cebu (UC) placed third with a 13-6-13 (gold-silver-bronze) haul.
Leading the winners for the Jaguars in the tertiary competition is Vince Harvey Cabrera, who bagged four golds. Jomar Pepito and Daniel Kent Fernandez snared three golds each, Sam Zozobrado, Rhea Tuble and Ma. Minerva Mercader won two each while Bianca Patricia Dumagil bagged one gilt.
USJ-R won 11 golds in the secondary division led by the rising Gerald Baclaan and Felix Calipusan Jr., who won three gold medals each.
The Jaguars also ruled badminton competition at the Metrosports Center last Sunday by securing 15 golds, four silvers, and one bronze medal.
