Netizens supported Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña’s decision to enforce a cell phone signal ban within the Sinulog parade route next year.

A netizen named Patingo Elmero wrote, “Proven naman from the last year, so i think wala ng problem this time.”

Teresa Arcenal said, “The decision of the mayor to shut down the signal is for all the safety of the people who will be attending the sinulog. It is the job of the mayor ensure the safety of his people.”

Another netizen, named Carla Fuego, commented: “I think this is a wise decision. Cebuanos are resilient individuals, we can look for ways to communicate during the sinulog like using ‘Fire Chat.’”
