The Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) announced that there are no casualties or reported injuries due to Tropical Depression Urduja.

However, PDRRMO chief Baltazar Tribunalo Jr. recommended for members of the Provincial Board (PB) to declare a state of calamity in the towns of Northern Cebu affected by the storm.

He added that floods were reported in Daanbantayan, Medellin, Sogod, San Remigio, Madridejos, Santa Fe, Bantayan, Tabogon, Borbon, and Bogo City.

“We’re still collating data as to the cost of the damage but in terms of agricultural, those greatly affected were root crops such as sweet potato,” said Tribunalo.

The PB will discuss the matter during their session later at 2 p.m whether to declare a state of calamity in the affected towns in northern Cebu
