Cebuanos triumph in Zambales

CEBU’s top junior triathletes snatched four titles on Sunday in the National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) -Philippine National Games (PNG) Qualifying Race in Subic Bay, Zambales.

Andrew Kim Remolino, Karen Andrea Manayon, Moira Frances Erediano and Charles Jeremiah Lipura of Rider Omega Pro Triathlon Team, ruled their respective age groups to earn slots to the PNG meet in Cebu City this May.

Remolino and Manayon topped the sprint elite division by clocking one hour, nine minutes and 42 seconds and 1:19.13, respectively. This division has 750-meter swim, 20k bike, and 5k run. Tonito Alejo trailed Remolino at second place (1:10.16) followed by Juan Baniqued at third (1:12.13).

Manayon beat Lauren Plaza (1:21.21) and third placer Jacqui Lamparero (1:24.17).

In the sprint 16-19 years old division, Lipura crossed the finish line in 1:14.54, teammate Alfred Latrell Pacabis finished second (1:16.44) while Teodoro Miguel Diaz rounded off the top three (1:17.53).

Erediano meanwhile, ruled the super sprint female category in 45:27 beating Jana Macalalad (46:30) and teammate Marielle Estreba (48:04). The super sprint distance is 500m swim, 10k bike, and 2.5k run.
