Radaza tells MCWD contractor to speed up road work

LAPU-LAPU City Mayor Paz Radaza said she was disappointed over the snail paced roadwork of the Metropolitan Cebu Water District’s (MCWD) contractor along Barangays Pusok, Ibo, Buaya and Mactan.

“The roads they temporarily filled-up were supposed to be passable but they were very uneven. It seems like they have very few people working,” she said.

Radaza said she asked the MCWD to speed up their work since it had been causing traffic congestion for weeks. She said Barangay Mactan will celebrate their fiesta next week which would worsen traffic more.

Radaza said she considered impounding the heavy equipment left by the contractor due to the traffic congestion it caused in the area.

MCWD spokesperson Charmaine Kara said they reminded the contractor to speed up their work to make the roads passable to motorists. She said they may finish the work in May or three months ahead of schedule.
