TUBURAN bounced back and secured its first win in the Governor’s Cup Volleyball Tournament with a 25-21, 23-25, 25-23 victory over Tabogon at the Santa Fe Municipal Gym in Bantayan Island yesterday.
The team withstood the smart plays of Tabogon’s 12-year-old wonder Maria Ellaisa Suson to come out with the win and recover from a loss to Medellin on Saturday.
The team now holds a 1-1 (win-loss) record in the northern division standings.
Meanwhile, Medellin swept the City of Bogo spikers, 25-18, 25-9, to log its second straight win in the tournament for volleybelles aged 18 years and below.
Medellin now has a 2-0 card while the City of Bogo City remained winless in two outings.
The next matches of the Governor’s Cup Volleyball Tournament will be this Saturday in Carmen, Bogo and Argao towns.
