YOUNG multi-titled triathlete Moira Frances Erediano seeks for a third straight title in the Alaska Ironkids as she competes in the Davao leg today.
The 13-year-old Erediano scored back-to-back wins in the 11-12 age group when she topped the Subic Bay leg in March 2017 and the Cebu leg in August 2017.
She will be competing for the first time in the 13-14 age-category, which has a 400-meter swim, 12-kilometer bike, and 3 km run course.
Because it will be her first time in this age group, Erediano said she prepared well for this race, training in longer distances.
“I am not pressured. I will just do my best and enjoy the race. Winning will be a bonus,” she said.
She finished the Cebu race held at the Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in 34 minutes and 25 seconds.
Erediano’s coach Roland Remolino, who has been her mentor for two years now, said he is confident with his bet’s chances.
“We really prepared for this,” Remolino said.
