STILL SAFE IN CEBU

Netizens still believe that Cebu City is a safe place to live in despite the claims to the contrary, following the shooting incident along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City at past 2 a.m. on Friday, April 13, that killed a village councilman from the southern Cebu town of San Fernando.

Marilyn Cane Abellana insisted, “Cebu City is safer than before.”

Ianne Mark also wrote: “Karon nlng mo mahadlok sa Cebu nga sauna ra daghan patay. Sure mo uy. Oa sd ning uban. Kng naa moy atraso, di jd mo safe. Walay peace of mind ky naay kuntra.” (Why would you be scared now when there were more killings in the past? Of course, you will never be safe if you have done something bad; and no peace of mind if you have enemies.)

John Espina joked, “katong ga ingon dili na safe ang Cebu adto nalang mog mars kaw mas safe ddto wajuy patay” (To those people who said that Cebu is unsafe. then go to Mars because there is no killing there and all of you are safe.)
