Balamban, Tuburan now 4-0

NORTHERN teams Tuburan and Balamban bolstered their campaigns in the North Division Bracket 3 by logging their fourth straight wins last Wednesday in the ongoing Governor’s Cup Inter-Cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament at the Tabogon Municipal Gym.

Tuburan crushed Tabogon, 120-87, while Balamban routed Tabuelan, 96-79, as both teams remained unbeaten and assured themselves of quarterfinal spots.

Both teams face each other in their next match to determine the number one team in the bracket on May 7 in Balamban.

Steven Fritz Yuson scored a game-high 23 points for Tuburan while Alson Sevilla Jr. added 21 points.

Balamban, meanwhile, rode on the explosive night of Albert John Sacayan, who scored a team-high 21 points.

In the North Division Bracket 4, Fritz Saladaga scored 26 points to lead Medellin to a 103-72 win over San Remegio at the Daanbantayan Municipal gym.

The win also gave Medellin a quarterfinal slot in its bracket as it improved to 3-0 (win-loss).

Madridejos also defeated home team Daanbantayan, 81-71, as both teams finished the elimination round with identical 2-3 cards.

In the south division, Badian beat Oslob, 90-76, Ginatilan edged Samboan, 90-75, and Alegria escaped Santander, 72-71 at the Alegria Municipal gym.

At the Alcantara Sports Complex, Barili downed home team Alcantara, 87-76, while Dumanjug defeated Aloguinsan, 102-85.
