KAPAMILYA host and comedian Vice Ganda has proven once again that he is the star to beat at the box office.
He has been named the Phonemenal Star of Philippine Cinema for the 49th Box Office Entertainment Award for the film “Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad.”
This is not the first time he won the same award. He was the first TV personality to receive the award in 2012 for his 2011 film, “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin.”
He also received the same award in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Aside from Vice Ganda, the same award will also be given to Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Daniel Padilla, his co-stars in “Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad,” an official entry of the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
The film earned more than P500 million and was the highest grossing film for MMFF 2017.
It is not the only award for Padilla. He has also been named Prince of Philippine Movies & TV while his onscreen partner Kathryn Bernardo was hailed as Princess of Philippine Movies & TV.
The Box Office King and Box Office Queen award will be awarded to Kapamilya love team Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, fondly called by their fans as LizQuen.
The popular love team topbilled the 2017 film, “My Ex and Whys” which earned more than P300 million in cinemas.
Aga Muhlach and Dingdong Dantes share the Film Actor of the Year award for the film, “Seven Sundays” under Star Cinema while award-winning actress Iza Calzado was named as Film Actress of the Year for the movie “Bliss.”
The Box Office Entertainment Award is an annual recognition for organized by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
The awards are to recognize personalities, movies, and television programs.
This year, ABS-CBN dominated the 49th Box Office Entertainment Award. The awarding ceremony will be on May 20 at Resorts World Manila.
