THE EAGLES completed a come-from-behind 76-74 win over the Rhinos in a do-or-die championship game to win the title in the 11th season of the Elite Basketball Club – Cebu last Friday night at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Former UV Green Lancer Randy dela Pisa took matters into his own hands as he scored 11 of his 20 points in the final quarter to lead the Eagles’ comeback.
Niño Belande also played a crucial role for the Eagles as he made the go-ahead basket down the stretch to pave the way for the win.
Belande finished with 18 points and also made 11 in the fourth quarter.
Chris Mesa led the Rhinos with 17 points.
De La Pisa took home the Finals MVP honors in the tournament presented by Tough Gear Sportswear, Print Ideas, Shetzue’s Razor, U Shape Up Gym and Spa, VDrink Malunggay Juice, Brayden’s Food Proucts, and Express Solution.
