AJ Mercado and Maria Cela Laplap emerged as the fastest runners in the 16-kilometer race of the Run For Gift of Life 2 yesterday.
Mercado clocked one hour 12 minutes and 31 seconds to win the men’s title while Laplap crossed the finish line at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu in 1:25.35 to the women’s side.
Around a thousand runners joined the running event organized by the Rotary Club of Cebu for the benefit of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) through the Gift of Life International and International Children’s Heart Foundation.
The 8k men’s champion was Stephen Fat Lee (37:32) while Cheska Rago (42:35) ruled the distaff side.
Winners in the 3k division were Vince Jefer Laquitas (11:21) and Nicole del Rosario (14:06).
