MOONLIGHTING employees of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) company were collared by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-7) and Department of Energy (DOE-7) for allegedly supplying LPG-filled butane canisters to a store retailer in Barangay Danglag, Consolacion past 10 a.m. on Thursday.
DOE-7 Legal Officer Russ Mark Gamallo said that they caught Phillip Milan Jr. and Dario Tabotlog Jr., who are employees of an LPG company, as they delivered LPG-filled butane canisters to the store owner Renel Mangilayo.
Gamallo said that Milan and Tabotlog used their connections in the LPG firm’s plants to refill the butane canisters.
The authorities also confiscated 1,190 butane canisters worth at least P900,000.
Aside from that the delivery van of the LPG firm was also impounded.
Those arrested were detained at the CIDG detention cell pending the filing of charges.
They will be charged with illegal distribution of petroleum products which carries a fine of P20,000 to P50,000 or jail time of two to five years if found guilty of the violation.
