Talisay to study proposal on turning plastic waste into bricks

By: John Michael Aroa June 05,2018 - 05:43 PM

The Talisay City Council is studying a proposal from a private company to turn the city’s plastic trash into bricks.

Talisay City Councilor Antonio “Jojo” Bacaltos, chairman of the city’s committee on environment, said the bricks are ideal for building houses.

Each brick is estimated six to eight times stronger than an ordinary brick, Bacaltos said.

However, he said the proposal is still subject to scrutiny from the council to ensure product safety and prevent health safety issues.
