THE TALISAY City Aquastars were crowned the South Division champions of the 2018 Governor’s Cup Inter-Cities/Muncipalities Basketball Tournament after carving out a masterful 96-69 rout of the Sibonga Pillars in Game 2 of the best-of-three Finals series at the Sibonga Sports Complex last night.

The Aquastars, still unbeaten after 12 games in this tournament, built leads of as many as 36 in the second half to pull off the easy victory and book a seat to the overall championship, where they will take on the winner of the North Division.

The North Division finalists are San Francisco, Camotes and Consolacion. Their series starts Sunday at the San Francisco Sports Complex.

Jay Deiparine led the Aquastars with 24 points.
