Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña granted the request of settlers occupying the sidewalks of Arellano Boulevard in Barangay Tejero to postpone the demolition of the structures while they continue to look for a relocation site.
Seven houses, however, were already destroyed when the demolition team was ordered to stop at around 9:30 am, Tuesday (July 10).
The demolition was intended to clear the sidewalk of the boulevard, said Raquel Arce, Cebu City Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification, Enhancement (Probe) chief. /USJR Intern Delta Letigio
