Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma thanked the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) for volunteering its personnel to serve in churches and attend religious activities to improve their performance.

“I appreciate the plans of the police. Any effort to be closer to God through serving in church activities or to know more about being holy, change our lives for the better is most welcome,” Palma said.

Senior Supt. Royina Garma, Cebu City police chief, earlier said she directed the police to serve in their respective churches and attend religious activities to bring themselves closer to the community.

Palma said the oratio imperata against extrajudicial killings will continue to be prayed in all churches under the Cebu Archdiocese for as long as these incidents continue.

“This is no longer a fight against human beings na. This is a fight against the forces of evil,” Palma said. The oratio imperata will be prayed during Sunday masses and in any Mass the parish priest deems necessary./Delta Dyrecka Letigio, USJ-R Journalism Intern
