UNIVERSITY of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancer forward Joshua Yerro kept his spot at the very top of Week 3 of the Chooks to Go/NBTC Cesafi 24 rankings after stuffing the stat sheet once again against the University of Cebu (UC) Baby Webmasters.
In their game against UC, Yerro finished with just 13 points but pulled down 16 rebounds to go with five assists and three steals to lead UV to a 78-72 victory.
Yerro’s teammate, point guard Gabriel Cometa rose from sixth to the second spot after an impressive performance that saw him torch UC for 21 points, two rebounds and three steals.
Sol Jade Tirol of Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT–U) remained in third while his teammate, power forward Carlos “The President” Garcia, rose to fourth from seventh place after piling up 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Another standout from CIT-U, Vincent Bugtai, rounded out the top five.
Completing the top 10 are Jerick Ranido of UC, who scored 24 points in the lossto UV; reigning MVP Beirn Laurente of UV, the University of San Carlos Khadshein Tagalog, who had a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 75-70 win over CIT-U; big man Kendrick Abarquez of the University of San Jose-Recoletos and Popoy Actub of UV.
