Yawyan ArDigma Cebu contributes three golds for team Cebu City

YAWYAN ArDigma Cebu fighters clinched three gold medals in the Muay Thai event of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Batang Pinoy National Championships in Baguio City last week.

Jemarie Josh Ybañez, Ulysses Martinez, and Andrei Lanz Caniga topped their respective categories to bag golds for Cebu City, which is headed by head coach Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr., who also heads YawYan ArDigma Cebu.

Ybañez beat Mark David Comia of Quezon City to dominate the 44-kilogram 12-13 years old male category while Martinez beat Baguio City’s Schuyler Agustin to clinch the gold medal in the 38kg male 12-13 years old category. Caniga beat Benguet Province’s Nathan Kersh Benito in the another 38kg division.

Team Cebu City’s Muay Thai kickboxers also brought home four silvers and four bronze medals.

The silver medalists were Bien Algono, Mark Renxel Alforque, Joshien Dumaran, and Alexandar Zion Melecio. Team Cebu City’s bronze medalists were Ken Pamoso, Edgar Caburnay, Ken Caburnay, and John Francis Almario.

Team Cebu City placed second overall in the medal tally with a haul of 36-40-40 (gold-silver-bronze).
