The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has recorded a total of 10,398 persons who have registered to vote in Talisay City, Cebu.

April May Gamboa of COMELEC Talisay City Office said that at least 4,393 persons are classified as newly registered voters. Gamboa observed that most registrants for this year were transferees.

At present, there are 138, 897 active registered voters in Talisay City.

“One of the possible reasons why We have many transferred voters in Talisay this year because of the development of real estate industry, housings, and subdivisions in Talisay,” Gamboa said.

On the other hand lawyer Gallardo Escobar, election officer of Talisay City, reminds candidates who will be filing their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) to coordinate with them first before coming to their office for purposes of managing the crowd.

The filing of the COC is scheduled from October 11 to 17.

Escobar reminded candidates to bring all necessary documents needed to avoid inconvenience.
