The Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies in the Central Visayas (ARENA-7) has lined up several activities in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the National Career Executive Service.

As a kick-off activity, the ARENA-7 helped in repacking food packs at the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Visayas Disaster Response Center (VDRC) in Tingub, Mandaue City last October 12.

“This is our way of celebrating our 45th year. ARENA organized this volunteer work to help the DSWD and the victims of calamity who will be benefiting from these food packs that we repack now,” said Efren Carreon, regional director of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Interim President of ARENA-7.

Grace Subong, DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Administrations, welcomed the volunteers and thanked them for the effort of coming to VDRC and sparing their time in repacking the food packs. She also congratulated ARENA-7 for its 45th anniversary.

A total of 101 representatives from the different national agencies joined the activity.

Director Carreon added that they will do this again next year together with the DSWD. He said this is a good experience for the regional directors and their staff to repack the food packs intended for the disaster-affected families.

The 45-day celebration has just started and in the coming days, there will be more volunteer works that ARENA-7 will be doing. They will have an early Christmas gift for the children in partnership with DSWD.

NEDA will also conduct a financial literacy for the retirees on November 5, 2018. /PR
