TO COMMEMORATE AGUINALDO’S 150TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared March 22, 2019 as “Emilio Aguinaldo Day” to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the country’s first President.

Duterte signed Proclamation No. 621 last Thursday, declaring March 22, 2019 as Aguinaldo Day.

A copy of the Proclamation was shared to the media on Monday.

The proclamation mandates the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) as the lead agency for Aguinaldo’s 150th birth anniversary celebration.

“The NHCP may convene an inter-agency task force to plan, coordinate and implement effectively all programs, projects, and activities relative to this milestone event,” Duterte said in his Proclamation.

All department, agencies, bureaus, offices and national government agencies, local government units and government-owned or -controlled corporations are encouraged to give their full support and assistance to the NHCP in observance of the celebration.
