REVIVING the prestige and popularity of bodybuilding competitions in Cebu is the main goal of the upcoming Mr. Oxygen 2018 of the Hardline Oxygen Fitness and Muscle Factory on December 5 at the Bella Vista Hotel in Lapu-Lapu City.

The upcoming bodybuilding competition will feature the “Battle of the Champions” and Novice Open categories.

This event is made possible by one of Cebu’s renowned fitness patron Jocelyn Nacua, the proprietor and fitness manager of Hardline Oxygen Fitness and Muscle Factory in Lapu-Lapu City.

Nacua and her husband, Danilo, a former national bodybuilding champion who is now in Kuwait, serving as the head coach of the Kuwaiti national team for bodybuilding, are known in Cebu before for organizing bodybuilding competitions.

They were organizing bodybuilding competitions and running multiple fitness gyms in Cebu since 1993 but in 2002, they decided to go abroad to seek greener pastures.

“I want to revive and promote bodybuilding again in Cebu. I want to unite bodybuilders in the Visayas because there are only very few competitions that we notice happening in Cebu for the past years,” said Jocelyn, a certified International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB) official.

Another goal for organizing the upcoming competition is to revive the IFBB officiating in Cebu to give them the opportunity to organize bigger bodybuilding competitions next year.

The winner of the “Battle of Champions” will receive a whopping P10,000 while the novice winner gets P5,000.
