FOOTBALL and futsal development will now shift to the sport’s female enthusiasts as the Sama Sama Games (SSG) 2018 launches the Girls Community League this afternoon at the Don Bosco Youth Center in Pasil, Cebu City.

The SSG is a sports and educational festival spearheaded by FundLife International since 2014 and advocates for greater inclusivity and opportunity for all, especially girls, through play.

This year, FundLife is bringing the SSG to Cebu and will gather about 600 aspiring young booters with some coming from Davao, Manila and Tacloban.

Partnering with Fundlife in this 3-day event which was launched yesterday at the Marco Polo Hotel is Generation Amazing, a football-focused corporate social development programme of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Qatar’s delivery and legacy authority for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

FundLife’s local partner here in Cebu is the Giuseppe Football Club (GFC) and Dynamic Herb Sports, Inc.

Joining FundLife founder Marko Kasic during the launching and press conference yesterday were Rosa D’Alessandro of Generation Amazing, Rachel Genco, one of the GFC owners, and Ugur Tasci of Herbs, which is about to also launch its stadium with an artificial pitch next year.

Special guests were Cebu City Councilor Jerry Guardo, Apple Bariñan and Jinggoy Roa who represented the Cebu Football Association.
