CEBU CITY, Philippines — “Enjoy the whole journey and believe in yourself.
This was the advice of Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla to Philippine bet Maureen Montagne who is now competing for Miss Eco International 2019 in Cairo, Egypt.
Thomalla is currently in Cairo as she will pass on her crown to her successor on March 29 at the Al Masa Hotel.
More than 60 candidates from all over the world are competing for the title.
Thomalla told Cebu Daily News Digital through an Instagram message that she was excited to crown her successor next week.

“Take it easy and cherish every step. Be mindful about your advocacy and do it wholeheartedly,” said Thomalla, who shared this advice to Montagne.
According to its official Facebook page, Miss Eco International aims to to market Eco-tourism all over the world.
Thomalla’s journey
Thomalla has several titles under her belt including Sinulog Festival Queen in 2016 and Reyna ng Aliwan 2016.
She also finished first runner-up in Miss Mandaue 2015.
In 2017, Thomalla represented Cebu for the Miss World Philippines pageant.

She wore the sash for the Philippines in Miss Eco International 2018 held in Egypt making her the first Filipina to win the crown.
After winning the title, she was named as a United Nation (UN) Goodwill Ambassador and received the recognition from Ambassador Remigio Martin Maradona and Dr. Ismail Abdelghafar, chairman of the Arab League in Alexandria, Egypt in 2018.

Last year, Thomalla inked a contract with GMA Artist Center. /dbs
